Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has aimed a sly dig at former club Chelsea after completing his move to French side Marseille.

Aubameyang joined Chelsea from Barcelona last summer, after a hugely impressive six months in Spain, where he scored 13 times.

However, the club's financial situation prevented them from extending his stay at Camp Nou.

Chelsea swooped in to sign him for a fee of £10 million but a disastrous 12 months followed and he has now been rescued from his nightmare.

And after being unveiled by the French club, the 34-year-old was asked why he had been unable to mirror the form he displayed with Barca. "I think it's simple to explain," he said.

"The manner in which I was received by both the players and the staff, at Chelsea, the context was different. Maybe Because I arrived at Chelsea due to Thomas Tuchel, and a week later, he had been sacked"

Aubameyang scored just three goals during his time at Chelsea.
