He's the best player in the world — Man Utd's Garnacho snubs Messi, Ronaldo, makes bold claim
Manchester United’s Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho, a vocal Cristiano Ronaldo fan and Lionel Messi’s national teammate, has played alongside both football legends.
He’s often shown his love for Ronaldo, even copying his iconic goal celebrations. But despite his ties to these two giants, Garnacho thinks someone else is currently the world’s best footballer.
After Lamine Yamal’s stunning UEFA Champions League performance for Barcelona, Garnacho took to social media, responding to a post about the 17-year-old with a bold statement: “Best player in the world,” followed by a mind-blown emoji, clearly blown away.
In Barcelona’s thrilling 3–3 draw against Inter Milan in the Champions League semifinal first leg at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, Yamal put on a show, stealing the spotlight with an unforgettable display.
Though Barcelona fell short in the second leg, the young winger shone again and is now a top contender for the Ballon d’Or.
Yamal certainly has a long way to go before hitting the heights set by the likes of Messi and Ronaldo but he is clearly on his way to cementing a lasting legacy.
