France captain Kylian Mbappe commented on Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League triumph.

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has congratulated his former club Paris Saint-Germain as they lifted their first-ever UEFA Champions League title.

The 26-year-old spent six years at the club, in which he cemented himself as their highest goalscorer of all time. However, he failed to deliver the highly coveted Champions League title, reaching a final and multiple semi-finals before leaving the club for Real Madrid.

PSG become champion for the first time

PSG won their first-ever Champions League title, dominating Inter 5-0 in the final. The victory marked a historic moment for the French club, who became the first French side to lift the trophy since Marseille in 1993.

The match was a one-sided affair, with PSG controlling the tempo and creating numerous chances. Desire Doué scored twice, and Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and youngster Senny Mayulu added to the tally.

The win completed PSG's first-ever quadruple, capping off an impressive season. Inter, on the other hand, ended the season trophyless after almost winning a treble.

Mbappe's reaction

The former Monaco star left Paris Saint-Germain and riches to chase his dream at Real Madrid. Despite PSG achieving the elusive Champions League title immediately after losing him, he took to social media to join their fans in celebration.

“The big day has finally arrived,” he shared on Instagram. “Victory and with the manner of a whole club. Congratulations, PSG.”
