Yamal is better than Messi — Afrobeats superstar makes bold claim

Afrobeats superstar Odumodublvck recently made a sensationalist comparison between Lamine Yamal and Barcelona legend Lionel Messi. 

The teenager has been compared to the diminutive Argentine since his La Masia days, as his left-footedness, dribbling and playmaking ability remind many of the other Barcelona Academy graduate, Messi. 

Recently, it was discovered that the Inter Miami star bathed Yamal as a baby in a campaign for UNICEF, Barcelona's sponsors at the time, which further intertwined their legacies.

However, while Yamal has been compared to Messi for all his footballing career, those who do it have done it cautiously, ensuring to add the caveat, “but Messi is Messi and no one can be like Messi.” Even Yamal has said that. 

The brazen Nigerian rapper, Odumodu, was uninterested in such diplomacy, as he flat out said Yamal was a superior footballer in his teenage years compared to Messi after the 17-year-old registered to assist to help Barcelona beat Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final. 

“YAMAL IS BETTER THAN LIONEL MESSI,” Odumodu said, “NA ME KALA TALK AM. AT 17 MESSI WAS NOT TOUCHING THIS LEVELS. I SAW HIM LIVE. I SAW HIM YOU CANNOT WHINE ME. NOBODY CAN WHINE ME”

At 17, Yamal has already completed domestic football in Spain winning the League, Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana, while Messi had yet to win anything for Barcelona at the same age. 

Also, last summer, Yamal led the Spanish national team to the Euros, while Messi did not make his Argentina debut until he turned 18.
