The deal includes an option for Porto to make the transfer permanent for a fee of €8 million in the summer.

If the purchase option is exercised, Nice could receive an additional €250,000 based on performance-related targets. The French club would also retain a 10% sell-on clause on any future profit from the striker's transfer.

What Moffi said

Speaking to Porto's official website after the move was finalised, Moffi expressed his excitement and highlighted the club's ambition as a key reason for his decision.

"I feel very proud to be here, to wear the colours of the club. It is really emotional for me, and I appreciate the president, coach, and fans," Moffi stated.

"It is a club that always strives to win trophies, to win games in the Champions League and Liga Portugal. We know how important this is to the fans and to the Porto family, so it is really good to be here."

The move sees Moffi reunite with coach Francesco Farioli, under whom he enjoyed a productive spell at Nice during the 2023-24 season, netting 11 goals and registering 2 assists.

"Francesco focuses on details—body shape, how you take the touch, where you take the touch into. He's really focused on details to make you a better player," Moffi explained.

"It’s not surprising to see what he’s doing now. When he left, he went to Ajax and did great there, and he’s now at Porto doing something extraordinary. Big ups to him."

Moffi emphasised that his best performances come when he is enjoying his football and is eager to meet the high expectations at his new club.

"As a player, I just love being happy playing football. When I am happy playing football, nothing else matters. That’s when I am at my best," he said.

"I love scoring goals, I love working for the team, and I love interacting with the fans. Huge expectations, I know, but I think with the help of God, the goals they want to see, they are going to see it."

At Porto, Moffi will team up with fellow Nigerian international Zaidu Sanusi and will wear the number 29 shirt for the second half of the 2025-2026 season.

During his time at OGC Nice, which began in January 2023, the Super Eagles forward scored 24 goals and provided five assists in 72 appearances across all competitions.
