Transfer news: Super Eagles star leaves Nice after fans attack, joins Porto for a fresh start
Moffi's departure from Nice concludes a difficult few months at the French club. He has been sidelined from the first team since a loss to Lorient on November 30, a match that was marred by confrontations between players and fans after the final whistle.
Following the incident, Moffi was excluded from the senior squad and has been seeking an exit. The situation escalated to the point where the player reportedly had to involve a French judicial commission to facilitate his departure during the winter transfer window.
His form this season had also been a concern, with just two goals in 10 league appearances. This was a significant drop from his first season at the club, where he finished as top scorer with 11 goals following his permanent transfer from Lorient.
Moffi leaves Nice
According to reports, the Portuguese club has agreed to a loan deal that includes an €8 million option to buy, which is not mandatory.
The move to the Estádio do Dragão marks the end of a challenging period for Moffi in French football.
Transfer market specialist Fabrice Hawkins has confirmed the agreement is in place, with the 26-year-old expected to travel to Porto for a medical and to complete the transfer formalities.
Porto successfully fend off interest from several other clubs, including Turkish side BeÅŸiktaÅŸ, who reportedly offered the striker a more substantial salary.

Despite attention from teams in France and Scotland, Moffi was reportedly attracted by Porto's sporting project and the opportunity to work with coach Francesco Farioli, who is familiar with the player from his time in Ligue 1.
For Porto, the Super Eagles striker represents an immediate reinforcement for their attack at a critical point in the season. Should he impress, the club holds the option to make the transfer permanent this summer.
