What happened
Arsenal made some loan signings in the summer to fix squad problems. Sterling was acquired from Chelsea to bolster their offensive ranks, while Neto came from Bournemouth to provide needed cover for David Raya.
However, Arsenal find themselves needing to make more additions this winter. The Gunners have been ravaged by injuries this season, and while they are gearing up for a massive summer transfer window, they need crucial fixes now.
However, the presence of Sterling and Neto prevents them from signing Premier League players on loan, as they have both filled up the quota.
What Arteta said
Sterling has been important in recent weeks, while injuries have kept Neto out. There have been suggestions that Arsenal will terminate one or both of their deals to accommodate new loan moves, but Arteta immediately shut down the notion.
“We’re not considering to terminate Raheem Sterling or Neto’s loans this month,” Arteta told reporters ahead of the Premier League clash against Wolves.
