Oliseh, who took over as Nigeria coach in July 2015 on a three-year contract, resigned less than a year later in 2016, accusing the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) of breaching the terms of his agreement.

What Oliseh said

Speaking on his YouTube platform, “Oliseh’s Global Football Insights Podcast,” the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder described his time with the Super Eagles as deeply unpleasant, largely due to poor logistics and inadequate support.

According to Oliseh, the lack of essential training resources made effective preparation almost impossible.

The former international coach painted a troubling picture of daily life in the national team camp, revealing that even basic training kits were in short supply.

“When I was coaching the Super Eagles, we did not have the equipment,” Oliseh said.

He continued, “There were times I had to take the boys out for training, but we couldn’t go at the scheduled time because we had to wait for the kits they used in the morning to be washed and dried.”

Oliseh admitted he was stunned by the situation, especially considering Nigeria’s reputation as one of Africa’s football powerhouses.

He added, “Those were the things I was facing. It was shocking to me because I knew that for a top nation like ours, getting sponsors wasn’t a difficult thing.”
