We are ready for China - Falconets coach blows hot ahead of U-20 Women's World Cup second game

Nigeria's Falconets head coach Moses Aduku has revealed they have put their opening defeat to Spain behind them and fully focused on China's clash.

The Falconets began their FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup campaign in Poland with a 2-0 loss to Spain, leaving them with little margin for error as they chase a place in the knockout stage.

Now, with China waiting in a decisive Group F encounter on Thursday evening at Stadion Sosnowiec, Aduku believes his players are mentally prepared to deliver the response Nigeria needs.

The Falconets coach insisted the team has already moved on from the disappointment of their opening defeat and is fully focused on the challenge ahead.

“We have put the match against Spain behind us and are focusing totally on the clash with China. The players are ready to come out stronger for the match against China,” Aduku told thenff.com.

China enters the match with confidence after producing one of the tournament's biggest opening-day victories.

The Asian side defeated tournament debutants New Caledonia 5-0, finishing Matchday One at the top of Group F ahead of Spain on goal difference.

That result means Nigeria faces one of the group's in-form teams, making Thursday's fixture even more important.

Another defeat would leave Nigeria's chances of reaching the knockout rounds hanging by a thread.

The Falconets will be aiming to rediscover the attacking spark that was missing against Spain while tightening up defensively against a confident Chinese side.
