Vincent Kompany has had a blistering start to his career as Bayern Munich’s manager, as he recently mirrored a streak from Pep Guardiola’s time at the club.
Kompany's hot start
Bayern Munich's decision to hire the Belgian was met with criticism and ridicule, as he was coming off the back of a disastrous season with Burnley, in which they got relegated.
Kompany was not deterred, however, and he has had a near-stutterless start to his career as a Bayern Munich manager. He started with a 14-1 victory over Rottach-Egern in pre-season, and save for a 1-1 draw against FC Duren, he has won every match he has managed.
He has won all four Bundesliga games this season, one Champions League match—the 9-2 routing of Dinamo Zagreb—and one DFB Pokal match.
Kompany matches Pep’s run
Three of the four matches Bayern Munich have played this season have been away games: a 3-2 victory over Wolfsburg, a 6-1 thumping over Kiel and most recently, the 5-0 triumph over Bremen.

The run of wins meant Kompany became the first manager to win their first three away games at Bayern Munich since Pep Guardiola in the 2015/16 season.
This record would excite the Bayern Munich leadership, as his education under Pep during his time as the Manchester City captain propped up his CV and enticed the club's hierarchy. Pep has also spoken highly of Kompany and has tipped him to become a Cityzen coach in the future.
