'Victor Osimhen is there' — Alan Shearer advises desperate EPL club to sign Nigerian striker
The lack of a top-class striker at Arsenal has been the topic of discussion for several months, and with the summer transfer window looming, the Gunners are expected to make a big splash in the market.
Mikel Arteta has rued their inability to take chances, and that lack of cutting edge in attack has seen them fall off the rails in the Premier League title race for the third season running.
Former England strikers Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker have weighed in on who they think Arsenal should sign.
Shearer, speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, believes Victor Osimhen is the way to go.
"Victor Osimhen is there, isn't he? He would, without a doubt, score goals for them. The problem they've got now is that the whole world knows they need a forward."
Lineker, on the other hand, thinks Delap would be a great option.
"If I were them, I'd go for Delap at Ipswich. I know he's young and not entirely proven, but he's scored quite a lot of goals in the Premier League this season for a team that's obviously struggled, having been promoted."
Osimhen has been in outstanding form while on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, scoring 20 goals in 25 games this season.
The Gunners are reportedly considering multiple targets, including Newcastle's Alexander Isak and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko.
However, Osimhen could be a more realistic target, with a reported release clause in his Napoli contract worth around £62m.
