Victor Boniface: Super Eagles star remembers late mom with emotional post

Amid growing speculation about his split from Norwegian influencer Rikke Hermine Jansen, Bayer Leverkusen star Victor Boniface has taken to Snapchat to honour his late mother.

The Super Eagles striker shared a touching photo of his mum with the caption, “My mum”, accompanied by a dove emoji, reflecting on her memory during what appears to be an emotional time for him.

Boniface, 24, has not publicly addressed the swirling rumours of his breakup from his girlfriend of four years. 

However, his latest social media post has shifted attention to his enduring love for his late mother, whom he has frequently spoken about in interviews.

In April 2024, Boniface made headlines when he spent over ₦10 million on custom jewellery to honour his mum. 

Collaborating with Buchi Obasi, the renowned jeweller behind Victor Osimhen’s championship ring and chains, Boniface commissioned two diamond-encrusted chains.

One of the pendants features a throwback photo of his late mother alongside his siblings, with the powerful inscription, “Dreams Are For Real.” 

The second chain is a heartfelt tribute to her, adorned with the words, “Keep Resting Mama.”

Boniface’s devotion to his late mother is evident not just in these grand gestures but also in his actions. 

After her passing in 2023, the Nigeria international revealed that he grew up with his grandparents and shared a close bond with them.

 He even flew his grandmother to Germany to watch him play in the Bundesliga, showcasing his gratitude and love for his family.
