Serie A giants Inter have reportedly registered interest in Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde and will be prepared to rival Manchester United for his signature in the summer transfer window.

Balde, 22, is a Barcelona starting left-back and an academy graduate of La Masia. However, Barcelona are reportedly open to reasonable offers, and Inter are now evaluating the move.

According to Spanish publication MD, the Italian giants have identified Balde as an ideal target, as he is capable of doubling as a full-back and a wing-back.

However, the Red Devils are also keen on Balde. Manchester United have been linked with signing the Spain international after Patrick Dorgu’s long-term injury, which came at an inauspicious time, with the Dane only starting to show the quality which led the Mancunians to pay Lecce £25 million for his services in February 2025.

Despite Balde’s status at Barcelona, he is not deemed untouchable. According to reports, the Blaugrana hierarchy is concerned that his development has stalled, and he has not shown significant improvement despite having been in first-team contention since the 2021/22 season.

Meanwhile, Barcelona’s financial straits are also a crucial factor forcing them to consider selling players in the summer. With the elections coming up in March and various presidential candidates promising superstar signings, the Blaugrana need the cash inflow from transfers to improve their options in the summer.
