Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on VfB Stuttgart's Angelo Stiller as a potential midfield reinforcement, with reports suggesting the club is actively monitoring the German international.

Stuttgart are expected to command a fee upwards of €50 million (£43 million) for the 24-year-old, who has been hailed as Germany's next big star.

A product of Bayern Munich's esteemed academy, Stiller made the switch to Stuttgart in 2023 after a spell with fellow Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim.

His impressive performances earned him a spot in The Athletic’s 2024 Bundesliga Team of the Season and he was instrumental in Stuttgart's DFB-Pokal triumph in 2025.

According to football transfer specialist Florian Plettenberg, Stiller is receptive to the idea of a move to Old Trafford.

"Manchester United are still monitoring Angelo Stiller, who is very open to a move next summer," Plettenberg stated on X, indicating that a transfer after the current season is more probable than a January deal.

The Red Devils have been linked with several other defensive midfielders, including Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton.

However, Stiller could represent a more financially viable option, as Baleba is reportedly valued at around £100 million, while Wharton's price tag is also expected to significantly exceed Stiller's £43 million valuation.
