Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Super Eagles captain, Wilfred Ndidi, has been proposed to Manchester United as a potential midfield reinforcement.

Ndidi returned to Besiktas following his impressive performance with the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ndidi, who moved to Turkish club Besiktas last summer after an eight-year tenure with Leicester City in the Premier League, is reportedly eager for a swift return to English football.

Since joining Besiktas, Ndidi has been a key player, featuring in 14 league matches and scoring one goal for the Istanbul-based team.

Fabrizio gives update on Ndidi’s move

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano confirmed that the midfielder has been presented to Manchester United as a viable option for the January transfer window.

"One player that is offered to Manchester United is Wilfred Ndidi," Romano stated. "The former Leicester City midfielder, who is now playing in Turkey, is being offered as an opportunity for this January transfer window for their midfield."

While Ndidi is said to be keen on the move, Romano clarified that Manchester United has not yet taken any formal steps to secure his signature.

"Offered in the sense that the player will be keen to return to the Premier League," he explained. "Manchester United are aware of this chance, but at the momen,t Manchester United have not made any bid or offer."

Romano added that Ndidi is prepared to agree to terms to facilitate a move back to England, noting, "The player is ready in terms of contract side even to accept what it takes to go back to the Premier League."

As the winter transfer window nears its end, the midfielder will be hoping to finalise a deal to return to the highly competitive Premier League.
