Transfer News: Chelsea set deadline for ₦26bn-valued target

Chelsea are keen to bolster their squad before the start of the Club World Cup. 

Enzo Maresca’s team already added Liam Delap to their ranks, and the Englishman is expected to be part of the group that will travel to the United States. 

One of such transfers is Mike Maignan, the AC Milan goalkeeper who is on the Blues’ shortlist. 

Both clubs have hitherto failed to agree to a transfer fee, but the Conference League winners still hope to get the deal done. 

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have submitted one final bid for the 29-year-old Milan shot-stopper in a bid to conclude negotiations before the start of this month's Club World Cup.

The blubs have until Tuesday to get deals done ahead of the summer event in the USA, and the London club hope to add the Frenchman to their squad if they reach an agreement with the Rossoneri.

Maresca’s team will face LAFC on June 16, Flamengo on June 20 and ES Tunis five days later in their Club World Cup campaign.
