Transfer News: Chelsea prepare opening offer to beat Arsenal to £60m star

Chelsea are reportedly preparing an initial transfer offer for RB Leipzig’s Dutch star Xavi Simons, according to recent reports.

Manager Enzo Maresca has seen his side strengthened by the arrival of attacking stars Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, and Liam Delap for a combined fee of approximately £160 million.

Additionally, the young South American talents Estevao and Kendry Paez, both 18, are poised to play significant roles in the first team next season.

However, Chelsea’s hierarchy is eager to further bolster the squad by targeting Ajax defender Jorrel Hato and RB Leipzig’s attacking midfielder Simons before the transfer window closes.

Negotiations for the 19-year-old Hato have advanced significantly, with personal terms reportedly agreed and a full agreement nearing completion. Discussions for Simons are also gaining momentum, with Chelsea receiving positive signals from RB Leipzig and now readying an official offer.

According to talkSPORT, recent “positive” talks have “accelerated” over the past few days as the Blues look to swoop in ahead of Arsenal, who are believed to be considering a bid.

The report indicates that the Bundesliga club would consider selling Simons if Chelsea submit an offer of around €70 million.
