With the situation now a topic of debate, fans have called for stiffer sanctions to be handed to Richardson, and Coleman dropped some messages on his X page to this effect.
First, regarding how people can be hypocrites, and a second post directed at Richardson.
"Crazy how everybody got answers to other people’s problems and not their own. Hypotheticals and think pieces is the main reason we can never come together," he tweeted in his first post.
And a follow-up post that read: "Sometimes God will really sit you down and make you face yourself. Some things are obvious, time space and healing have to happen. But this is not her end. I think a new beginning. It’s all up to her though, so we’ll see. Regardless..relax."

The sprint queen was arrested on Sunday, July 27, at SeaTac Airport after a dispute with Coleman turned physical, and was briefly booked into Score jail in Des Moines for 4th degree domestic assault, held ~19 hrs, then released July 28.
After being interviewed by Port of Seattle police at the airport, Coleman stated he had gotten in a heated argument with Richardson, whom he said was his girlfriend of over two years. When he was asked to elaborate on what he meant by “heated,” he declined to do so.
He stated “nothing happened” and “denied anything physical had occurred.” He declined to provide his name or share his identification with the officer and didn't want to participate any further in the investigation.
Coleman also refused to be a victim and declined to press charges.
Christian Coleman defends Sha'Carri Richardson's actions
Following Richardson's arrest and release, Christian Coleman defended her in an interview after his 200m race at the USATF Championships, with the former world 100m champion revealing what led to the altercation.
“She’s a human being, and a great person…She has a lot of things going on, a lot of emotions and forces going on inside of her that not only I can’t understand, but nobody can. She’s one of one. And I’m one of one too,” he said.
The couple started dating in mid-2023 and have been supportive of each other ever since. Both winners in their rights, Richardson and Coleman have had a troubled 2025 season on and off track, with the recent situation heightening things.
There are rumours of their breakup after the arrest, but neither has confirmed it yet, making some fans believe they are still together but maintaining things on lowkey away from the public.
