Richardson is provisionally listed to race the women's 100m in Brussels, facing her fierce rival and training partner Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, who is undefeated this season.

Jefferson-Wooden clocked a jaw-dropping new Personal Best (PB) of 10.65s to win her second career national title at the USATF Championships. In contrast, Richardson, after running a new Season's Best (SB) of 11.07s in her heats, withdrew from the 100m semifinals, as she has a bye to compete in Tokyo as the reigning world 100m champion.

Not resting on her feat, Jefferson-Wooden completed the sprint double, blazing to a new PB of 21.85s to win the 200m final. By doing this, she became the first woman to complete the double at the US Championships since 2003. Richardson, however, failed to qualify for the final, after finishing fourth despite clocking a SB of 22.55s.

Jeffeson-Wooden will be gunning to extend the same form in Europe and hopefully spur Richardson to run her first sub-11s this season as they build up to the World Championships in September.

Meanwhile, Coleman is provisionally registered to run the 200m in Brussels, with his opponents yet to be revealed.

Christian Coleman will compete in Brussels after US Championships disappointment

Having agonizingly missed out on the US 100m team to Tokyo after finishing fifth in the final, and recorded the same position in the 200m final, the former world champion will hope to put the disappointment behind him and produce a good performance.
