Tierney set for Arsenal return after Injury Nightmare

Arsenal could see a surprise return for Kieran Tierney tonight as they face Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League.

The Scottish left-back has been sidelined for a significant period due to injury but he is now fit enough to be included in the squad.

Tierney spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad after falling out of favour at Arsenal. However, a serious injury disrupted his time in Spain and delayed his return to the Gunners.

Arteta confirmed that all players in the squad are fully fit for tonight's game.

"Everyone who is in the squad is fully fit to start the game. We have Kieran Tierney with us after a long injury. It's great news that he is back, he's been training with us and he is available to participate," Arteta said.

With injuries to Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu, Tierney could be called upon to provide cover at left-back. His return to the squad adds depth to Arsenal's defensive options and provides Arteta with more tactical flexibility.

Sporting CP, who recently defeated Manchester City 4-1 under former coach Ruben Amorim, now face a challenging match against Arsenal in the Champions League.

The Portuguese champions remain unbeaten after four matches but must heed Mikel Arteta's Arsenal, who secured a 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest in their first game after the international break.

Although Arsenal is well-positioned to qualify for the UCL knockout stages, they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan in their previous Champions League match.
