Thomas Partey: Villarreal star dabbles in legal hot water following TWO fresh counts of r*pe
Thomas Partey has been charged with two new counts of rape. The 32-year-old Villarreal midfielder faces trial in November after denying raping two women and sexually assaulting a third woman.
However, Partey could be in for more legal troubles following the latest development.
2 More Counts of Rape for Thomas Partey
According to The Telegraph, The Crown Prosecution Service has now authorised two additional counts of rape against Partey.
Partey is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 13 March, in relation to the new allegations.
Partey previously pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one charge of sexual assault when he appeared at Southwark Crown Court in September last year.
Those alleged offences took place between 2021 and 2022.
At the time Partey, now playing in La Liga, was a first-team regular in the Premier League at Arsenal. He was charged four days after leaving the club, following the expiration of his contract at the end of June.
The Black Stars midfielder, who is on bail, is due to face trial on November 2. The conditions of his bail do not prevent Partey from playing football, but he must notify police of any international travel 24 hours in advance and must not contact the complainants.
Timeline of Allegations and Ongoing Proceedings
The original charges against Partey, comprising five counts of rape and one of sexual assault, pertain to three women and are said to have occurred between 2021 and 2022, when he was a mainstay in Arsenal's midfield.
The former Atleti midfielder entered not guilty pleas to those counts during a court appearance at Southwark Crown Court in September 2025, with a trial for these initial allegations set for November 2026.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed the escalation, stating: "Mr Partey is already charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault in connection to allegations by three women of incidents which took place between 2021 and 2022. These new charges relate to a separate report of non-recent offences in 2020 involving one additional woman and follow a new investigation by the Metropolitan Police. These allegations were first reported in August 2025."
Villarreal has not yet issued public statements on the latest development, and Partey's legal team has yet to comment.
