Club legend Mikel Obi has sent the Blues a warning regarding their best players, suggesting some stars may be heading out this summer.

Mikel Obi believes Chelsea failures will drive out four key stars

Speaking on his Obi One Podcast, Mikel singled out Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernández, Marc Cucurella and Moisés Caicedo, claiming the quartet will soon receive calls from Europe’s biggest clubs.

“Right now, we have players like Cole Palmer, players like Enzo Fernández, Marc Cucurella, Moisés Caicedo… when they start getting phone calls from the likes of Real Madrid,” Mikel said.

“Florentino Pérez is a master in stealing players from clubs. That’s why I question it [Chelsea’s current model] and that’s why I say: what is the objective? The objective of this club has to be winning, winning trophies.”

The timing of Mikel’s comments is brutal. Chelsea are enduring a miserable run of form under head coach Liam Rosenior.

The Blues have suffered four straight defeats across all competitions, including a humiliating 8-2 aggregate Champions League exit to Paris Saint-Germain and a 3-0 thrashing at Everton.

They currently sit sixth in the Premier League, six points adrift of the top five, raising the genuine prospect of a trophyless season and, for the first time in years, missing out on European football altogether.

The air of discontent around Stamford Bridge is palpable.

Palmer has looked isolated and disinterested in recent games, Fernandez publicly questioned the club’s direction, and Cucurella refused to shut down links to a Barcelona return.

The pressure on Rosenior has reached boiling point, and unless the Blues finish the season strong, Chelsea’s star assets could be heading for the exit door.
