The Gunners currently hold a six-point advantage at the top of the table over Manchester City heading into a pivotal round of midweek fixtures.

City will look to reduce the gap when they host Fulham on Wednesday, while Arsenal travel to Brentford a day later.

Despite the importance of the upcoming matches, Bergkamp believed the toughest stretch of the season still lies ahead for Mikel Arteta’s side.

What Bergkamp said

Speaking on The Overlap podcast, the former Netherlands international suggested that Arsenal have yet to enter the period that truly defines title races.

“The difficult part hasn’t come yet,” Bergkamp said, pointing to the intense run-in that often tests squad depth, focus, and mentality.

While acknowledging that dropped points are inevitable, Bergkamp remains confident that Arsenal’s main rivals will face similar challenges.

“Arsenal will drop points at some stage, but other teams will as well. I don’t think the chasing sides will suddenly win every game,” he added.
