Six Super Eagles players have made a generous donation of ₦24 million to the Super Falcons, in celebration of their victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Super Falcons secured their 10th WAFCON title, after a thrilling 3-2 win over Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses in the final held in Rabat on Saturday.

In an official statement released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday, the federation confirmed the gesture by the male internationals.

The donating players include: Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun and Joseph Ayodele-Aribo.

Their financial contribution comes as a show of solidarity and respect for their female counterparts.

Meanwhile, the victorious team touched down in Nigeria on Monday and were received at the Presidential Villa in Abuja by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The President hosted the team and announced a lavish reward package for their efforts.

After winning the WAFCON, President Tinubu has promised the Super Falcons $100,000, a 3-bedroom apartment, and a national honor.

Each of the 24 players was awarded, a national honour (Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), a three-bedroom apartment and $100,000 (over ₦150 million).
