Frank Onyeka’s time at Brentford since joining from FC Midtjylland in 2021 has been full of ups and downs.
Under former boss Thomas Frank, the 27-year-old Nigerian midfielder enjoyed months of regular action but also endured frustrating spells on the bench.
Last summer, after being deemed surplus to requirements, Onyeka joined Augsburg on a season-long loan, where he impressed, featuring in 31 matches as they secured a 12th place Bundesliga finish.
However, Augsburg declined the chance to take the Nigerian on a permanent deal, sending him back to Brentford.
With Frank now at Tottenham and Brentford still searching for a new manager, Onyeka has revealed he is still uncertain about his next move.
“The aim right now is to go back to Brentford. I don’t know who the new coach is. So I have to speak to him to know what is going on.
"After speaking with the new coach, we can take it from there,” he told Soccernet.
Brentford are reportedly set to appoint Keith Andrews as their new manager, declining the temptation to hire from outside, instead promoting from within.
