Super Eagles head coach Chelle travels to France to watch Marseille’s new signings
The French giants secured a 3-0 victory over Rennes in the Coupe de France quarterfinals, advancing to the semi-finals.
Nnadi, who recently completed a transfer from Belgian club Zulte Waregem, signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the French giants but was not registered in time to participate.
While Marseille's new Nigerian signing, Nnadi, was ineligible for the match, Chelle took the opportunity to meet the midfielder and assess another potential Super Eagles prospect, Nwaneri.
Chelle visits Nnadi
After the game, Chelle shared a photo with Nnadi on his Instagram account, captioning it, "Evening at the Velodrome for OM v Rennes. Glad to have welcomed Nnadi, a new face to Marseille."
Chelle's primary focus on the pitch was Nwaneri, a dual-nationality player who has been on Nigeria's radar.
The young attacker played the first 45 minutes for Marseille before being substituted at halftime after picking up a yellow card.
Sources close to Nwaneri suggest the Hale End Academy product is still considering his international options.
However, it is believed he is currently leaning towards representing England, his country of birth, at the senior level.
