Following a strong showing at a tournament in Morocco, where Nnadi's exceptional qualities in ball recovery and transitional play were evident, Marseille (OM) quickly secured his signing.

They beat out competition from clubs such as Eintracht Frankfurt and Lazio to acquire the midfielder, who is highly regarded by Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi for his high-energy playing style.

Responding to a video of Nnadi's arrival posted on Marseille's official Instagram account, Taiwo left a concise but powerful comment: "Go smash it."

Despite being match-fit, Nnadi's debut for the 1993 European champions will be delayed. The midfielder was not registered in time for Marseille's Coupe de France fixture against Rennes on Tuesday, even though his signing was announced before the match.

He had recently returned from international duty with the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and had featured in Zulte Waregem's last two games.

He was a significant contributor on the pitch, amassing an impressive 38 goals and 42 assists in 446 appearances before his transfer to AC Milan.
