Super Eagles: Falz defends Iwobi from cyberbullying Nigerians
Super Eagles footballer Alex Iwobi has been the target of cyberbullying, but well-known rapper Folarin Falana, often known as Falz, has spoken up for him.
Iwobi has been subjected to harsh criticism on the internet by Nigerians due to his supposedly subpar performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final.
Falz defended the player, saying that each and every person who dons green and white to represent Nigeria in an AFCON game makes a sacrifice and shouldn't have to endure unjust treatment.
The rapper showed his support for Alex Iwobi and spoke out against cyberbullying by posting a photo of the footballer on his Instagram page.
Speaking on the AFCON final Falz said, "AFCON final yesterday def didn’t go as planned ðŸ˜ðŸ˜©
"Still we are super proud of the @ng_supereagles 🦅 💚
"They brought everyone together & gave us a reason to cheer during these crazy crazy times !"
Falz on Iwobi
On Iwobi he added, "We win together, we lose together.
"Every single player that puts on the green white green to represent us, is making an immense sacrifice and does not deserve to be treated with this much disdain.
"We speak a lot about cyberbullying but we are so quick to turn against our own.
"@alexanderiwobi Love you bro! Thank you 💚🦅🇳🇬"
Iwobi has since been honored by the Federal Republic of Nigeria despite rumors of a possible retirement.
