‘Stop Begging’ — Super Eagles' Arokodare Responds to Fan Over Request to Buy New Phone
Super Eagles striker Toluwalase Arokodare has turned the tables on a persistent fan begging for a new phone. The Wolverhampton Wanderers forward, known for his towering presence on the pitch, took to Snapchat to plead with the admirer to cease the digital soliciting.
What's the gossip?
This latest exchange was shared just 23 hours ago on his Snapchat. Arokodare, 25, shared a follower's plea for a new phone. The message read: "Day one of begging T.e.a 9 for new phone," with a smiley emoji.
However, the Super Eagles striker issued a swift yet comedic role reversal: "Day 1 of begging u to stop please. Pls don't let it enter day 2. Just stop."
Arokodare's witty repost suggests he's had quite enough of such requests. The striker is no stranger to navigating fan interactions with a blend of firmness and flair.
The Nigeria international, boasts a loyal following on Snapchat, often shares glimpses of his life off the pitch. But this particular back-and-forth underscores a growing trend: fans sliding into DMs with personal requests, from financial aid to gadgets.
This isn't Arokodare's maiden voyage into the choppy waters of fan beggary. Back in June 2025, shortly after netting his first international goal in Nigeria's friendly draw against Russia, the striker issued a stern warning via Snapchat: "I've begged you people too please stop coming here to beg me."
Earlier that year, in March 2025, Arokodare faced backlash for his response to a fan stranded in Spain, which many deemed surprising and unsympathetic. And in August 2025, a fan even threatened to report him to social media influencer VeryDarkMan over another perceived slight.
On the pitch, Arokodare is currently in his debut season with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 2025/2026 Premier League, following his transfer from Genk last summer. He has featured in 21 matches, scoring 2 goals, each coming against Chelsea and Arsenal.
Arokodare returns to action next on Wednesday 11 February, when Wolves host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League amid the imminent threat of relegation.
