Simba dare to dream as quarters enter final half
Simba Sports Club take their CAF Champions League semifinal dream to Morocco as they face Wydad Casablanca on Friday.
The Reds from Msimbazi carry a valuable but slim 1-0 win from their first leg played in Dar Es Salaam last week.
This time the team is looking at bettering their quarterfinal appearance in the 2018/19 and 2020/21 seasons where they lost to TP Mazembe from DR Congo and Kaizer Chiefs from South Africa.
However, when they enter the stage set at the King Mohammed V stadium in Casablanca, the Tanzanians will be cautious putting in mind that Kaizer Chiefs heartbreak came despite them winning 3-0 in Dar Es Salaam.
Wydad are the defending champions after beating record winners Al Ahly 2-0 last year at the same stadium.
“It is a tricky game because we’re playing away but we have two approaches to the game which we shall decide,” Roberto Oliviera, the coach of Simba said.
