Sevilla are reportedly considering a January move for Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar as they look for competition for Akor Adams.

Sadiq has found playing time hard to come by at Real Sociedad this season, having made only two substitute appearances so far.

The 28-year-old was once considered one of the most formidable strikers in Spain before a severe anterior cruciate ligament injury three years ago significantly hampered his progress.

Following his lack of playing time, Sevilla are looking to build a Nigerian attacking partnership, with a move for Sadiq.

Sadiq on Sevilla’s radar

Sevilla are seeking to add more firepower to its attack to improve their performance. While current strikers Akor Adams and Isaac Romero have shown promise, the team is looking for a more consistent goal-scoring threat.

This season, Adams has registered two goals and one assist in seven appearances, while Romero has found the net three times in eight games.

According to a report from Vamos Mi Sevilla, the club has identified Real Sociedad's Sadiq Umar as a potential solution to their attacking needs.

Umar showed flashes of his old ability during a loan spell at Valencia last season, where he scored five goals in 16 La Liga matches.

Real Sociedad may be open to a transfer, as Umar is one of the club's higher earners despite his limited role.

With a contract running until 2028, a move could be beneficial for both the player and the club.

If the transfer goes through, Umar would become the third Nigerian player at Sevilla, joining fellow Adams and winger Chidera Ejuke.
