‘I am living a dream’ - Debut goalscorer Akor Adams reveals what Osimhen did that turned his life around

Adams made his debut for the Super Eagles against Lesotho and made history by scoring just minutes after coming on as a substitute.

The goal scored by the Sevilla man was assisted by his adviser, Osimhen, who gave him a pass that led to the goal. 

The two were later paired in attack against the Republic of Benin, a partnership that proved fruitful in Nigeria's dominant victory at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

Following the match, Adams revealed that back in 2019, while struggling to find his footing in European football with Norwegian club Sogndal after a difficult U-20 World Cup, he reached out to Osimhen on Instagram.

At the time, Osimhen was making waves at French club LOSC Lille. Adams asked the prolific striker for advice on how to handle difficult games and training sessions. 

The Galatasaray star responded with words of encouragement, urging the then 19-year-old Adams to keep working hard, believe in himself, and trust in God.

Six years later, after sharing the pitch and a goal with his idol, Adams took to Instagram to express his gratitude. 

He described the experience as a dream come true, posting a screenshot of their old conversation and writing, "Some life scripts are handwritten by God himself! Thank you, @victorosimhen9; I am living a dream!!!”

His subsequent Super Eagles debut, first goal, and the chance to play alongside the very player who inspired him have marked a significant milestone in his career.
