Inter Milan have firmly turned down Crystal Palace’s €32 million bid for Yann Bisseck, the promising 24-year-old German defender who scored three goals last season, as they hold out for a higher fee closer to €40 million.
The Serie A giants are determined to secure a transfer fee that meets their valuation for Bisseck, who joined Inter in 2023 from Danish club Aarhus for just €7 million.
Having quickly established himself at San Siro, Bisseck made a total of 46 appearances across all competitions last season, 27 of which were in Serie A, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
Crystal Palace, gearing up for the season with uncertainty over their captain Marc Guéhi’s future, view Bisseck as a potential key replacement.
Guéhi has been linked with Liverpool and Newcastle amid his contract running down next year, making the Eagles keen to bring in a strong defensive presence.
Palace’s interest marks their second substantial offer for Bisseck after West Ham’s earlier, lower proposal was also rejected by Inter.
Reports from Italy reveal that while Bisseck himself is not actively pushing for a move, he would consider transferring if the terms align with expectations.
Inter, meanwhile, are undergoing a defensive overhaul under new manager Cristian Chivu, eyeing reinforcements such as Genoa’s Koni De Winter, Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman, and Parma’s Giovanni Leoni.
However, before making further signings, the club aims to generate funds through player sales.
The situation now hinges on whether Palace are willing to increase their bid to meet Inter’s €40 million valuation, a fee that would represent a significant return on investment for the Nerazzurri and enable their planned squad reinforcements ahead of the new campaign.
As the negotiations continue, Bisseck remains a highly valued asset, with his physicality, versatility in defense, and Premier League potential making him a coveted target for several clubs.
