What Ronaldo said
The Portugal international was in attendance at the Globe Soccer Awards, where he received the prize for Best Middle East Player.
During his acceptance speech, he spoke about his intended target of 1000 goals and expressed his confidence in reaching the goal.
“You all know what my goal is,” he said. “I want to win more trophies and reach the number [1000 goals] that you all know. I will reach that number for sure… if there are no injuries, inshallah!”

What Ronaldo previously said
Ronaldo previously said that he was not chasing the record to become the first player in history to cross 1000 official goals after he reached the 930-goal mark in a victory against Al Hilal.
The Portugal international already holds the record for most official goals in history and is actively pushing the target further for the next challenger.
“Let’s enjoy the moment, the present. I’m not chasing 1,000 goals,” Ronaldo said, per World Soccer Talk. “If it is, yes, perfect; if it’s not, then no. The moment is the most special thing, not what it’s gonna come.”
Meanwhile, Ronaldo is now on 956 goals, following his recent brace against Al Okhdood. He only needs 44 more goals to reach the proposed tally, and having scored 41 goals in 2025, it is likely he will hit the target by the end of next year.
