'Results can change' — Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta sends title warning to Liverpool

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has warned Liverpool that their eight-point lead in the Premier League title race can disappear quickly.

Arteta drew from his own experience last season when the Gunners topped the table for 248 days but ultimately lost out to Manchester City.

The Spaniard highlighted the challenges of maintaining a lead over 38 games, and is expecting his resurgent Arsenal team to be right there in case of any slip-ups.

"We've been there and to sustain it for 10 months is extremely difficult – everything has to go your way," Arteta said.

He cautioned that even the slightest setback can significantly impact a team's title aspirations.

The Gunners boss went on to discuss the impact of various factors, including injuries and refereeing decisions.

"Just when you think you have it, plop! Everything collapses," he said.

"Results can change through injuries, decisions and it can happen at any moment. You have to be ready for that but it's something you can't always control.

"All you can control is to do your very best."
