The Red Devils are currently 9th in the Premier League and the uncertainty surrounding Sir Jim Ratcliffe's investment has delayed decisions about Ten Hag's future.
Now, according to Metro UK, United's senior figures are interested in appointing ex-Chelsea boss Graham Potter should things fail to improve.
Potter has been out of a job since being sacked by Chelsea in April.
