Real Madrid to battle Tottenham for Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly on the search for a replacement for Antonio Conte who looks set to be on his way out at the end of the season. 

Conte essentially set up his potential exit by delivering an astonishing rant aimed at the club’s hierarchy and the players for their lack of ambition, following Tottenham’s  3-3 draw with Southampton last week. 

Mauricio Pochettino was sacked as Tottenham's manager in November 2019 in the wake of a disappointing start to the season, following years of overachievement with the club.

According to The Times, Pochettino is being discussed internally at Spurs, with the hierarchy aware that Conte could depart at any moment. 

The Times also report that Levy could face an uphill task in their desire to reappoint the Argentine as Real Madrid have also registered an interest in Pochettino. 

There are strong indications that Ancelotti could leave Spain this summer and the club is looking at alternatives. Jose Mourinho has been touted as a potential replacement but Mauricio Pochettino is now being targeted by Los Blancos.

Ancelotti is under mounting pressure after losing 2-1 at Barcelona over the weekend, thus falling 12 points behind their great rivals in the hunt for LaLiga.
