Rashford turns down ₦199m per week to stay at Man United

Manchester United's star man Marcus Rashford was reportedly offered €400,000 a week pre-contract deal by Paris Saint-Germain to prise him away from Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old is one of the best footballers in the world this season, and his form has aided Manchester United in their ascent back to world-class status. 

The Athletic reports that Paris Saint-Germain Germain were in contact with the Manchester United number 10 last summer to make him switch to the French capital.

The report revealed that PSG tabled a €400,000 a week contract for the MBE honouree, to convince him to join the French giants for free the following summer, as Rashford was on the last year of his contract at the time.  

However, the Manchester United academy graduate has triggered the one-year extension in his contract and will no longer be available as a free agent next summer, warding off PSG who were famously interested in him. 

Nasser Al-Khelaifi confirmed the interest of the Parisians during the World Cup in Qatar, where he said he would not deny interest in the striker, revealing they planned to initiate contacts after the World Cup. 

Meanwhile, as we reported previously, Paris Saint-Germain have set their sights on the Bundesliga for attacking talents. They are said to have France World Cup stars Randal Kolo Muani and Marcus Thuram on their shopping list.

Both players particularly shone for France in the World Cup final, coming on as substitutes in the game to help Les Bleus come back from a two-goal deficit to force the game into extra time.

Their outstanding performances for their club teams—Muani at Eintracht Frankfurt and Thuram at Borussia Monchengladbach—facilitated their inclusion in France’s squad at the tournament.
