Osimhen to Galatasaray: Full details emerge as Turkish giants complete biggest deal in club history
Galatasaray are set to make Turkish football history by signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli for a record-breaking 75 million euros, the most expensive transfer ever in the Süper Lig.
This deal eclipses the previous record of 19.5 million euros paid by Fenerbahçe for Youssef En-Nesyri in 2024, highlighting Galatasaray’s lofty ambitions and desire to compete fiercely in the UEFA Champions League.
According to reports, the 26-year-old Nigerian striker, who excelled during a loan spell at Galatasaray last season, will finalize a permanent move on Saturday.
Osimhen scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 matches in 2024-25, driving Okan Buruk's men to Süper Lig and Turkish Cup triumphs. His impact made him a fan favorite, with the fanbase united in demanding his return.
Financials behind Osimhen's move to Galatasaray
Negotiations with Napoli were intense, with their president demanding the full release clause. Galatasaray will pay 40 million euros upfront, 35 million euros in installments by 2026, and up to 5 million euros in goal-related bonuses.
Napoli secured a 10% sell-on clause for future transfers above 75 million euros and a restriction on Osimhen joining another Serie A club until July 2027. Financial paperwork is due by July 30, with Osimhen set to sign a three-year contract worth 16-18 million euros annually, among the highest in Süper Lig history.
Galatasaray, also strengthened by adding Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich on a free transfer, and the addition of Osimhen on a permanent deal, signals the intent to compete
