Osimhen scores but Napoli drop points
Napoli's struggle to defend their Scudetto title puts their chances of securing a Champions League spot at risk, even if Serie A gets rewarded with a fifth spot.
Coming into the match against Frosinone, they were seven points behind AS Roma in fifth place, knowing that anything less than a win would severely dent their hopes.
While Napoli had their chances, including a goal from Matteo Politano, they couldn't capitalize fully.
Frosinone had opportunities too, notably a missed penalty. Despite Napoli's dominance, Frosinone managed to equalize through Cheddira, capitalizing on a mistake by Napoli's goalkeeper.
The hosts regained the lead thanks to a fine instinctive finish from in-demand Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
However, Frosinone leveled again with a powerful header from Cheddira. Frosinone could have won if Demba Seck had scored late on.
Despite a late red card for Napoli, the match ended in a draw, leaving Napoli disappointed and Frosinone still in the relegation zone.
