'Osimhen is not very talented' — Turkish commentator says Galatasaray are missing Icardi
Turkish football commentator Selim Soydan made an interesting comparison between the level of influence Victor Osimhen has over his teammates and that of Mauro Icardi.
Icardi scored 25 goals to lead the Cim-Bom to the Super Lig title last season. He also started this campaign brightly, scoring four goals in seven matches, before suffering an unfortunate ACL injury.
What Soydan said
In the games Icardi played, he formed a great partnership with Osimhen, and the Cim-Bom were better for it.
Soydan, making an assessment on Galatasaray, explained that the Argentine had qualities that helped optimise his teammates, compared to Osimhen, who he does not believe is as talented.
He urged Galatasaray players to pray for Icardi’s return, as he has boosted their profile. He even went ahead to claim Kerem Akturkoglu secured a move to Benfica last summer because his qualities were accentuated by Icardi.
"Galatasaray players should go to bed and pray for Icardi,” Soydan said, per GSgazzete. “Icardi has literally made everyone a football player.
“Osimhen is not very talented. Icardi, on the other hand, thinks about what to do before the ball even comes to his feet. If Kerem Aktürkoğlu is playing for Benfica today, he should go to bed and pray for Icardi. He got along very well with Barış and Yunus. If he was there, Osimhen could score even more."
