Ola Aina: I'm in talking stage with another footballer's girlfriend — Super Eagles star reveals

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina recently revealed that he was caught up in a relationship dilemma, as he is involved in a “talking stage” with another footballer’s girlfriend, who he claims likes him more than her partner. 

The 29-year-old is currently injured, and although he was named in Eric Chelle's preliminary squad for the AFCON, his availability is in doubt. With his time away from football, he was recently a guest on BBC Channel 4’s Savage Kids & Agony Aunties show, in which he sought out advice on his personal issues. 

Clips from the show have been making the rounds on the internet, with one showing the “Savage Kids” mocking Aina for his performance in the AFCON 2023 final. 

Aina told the panel about his relationship issues, saying, “My dilemma is I'm in a talking stage with another baller's girl.” Asked who the footballer was, he said, “Can't disclose that one,” but confirmed that they have been talking. 

One child on the panel offered some pushback, asking, “Has it crossed your mind that she is a bit of a clout chaser, two footballers?” However, Aina said, “I believe she likes me more.”

According to the Daily Mail, the 'Aunties' told Aina to “own up to the guy' and 'be honest.” However, another kid said, “Me personally, I think she's only there for your money. You're a professional footballer; you're earning bread. Plenty more girls will come. She's on a permanent sin bin off the pitch, red card.”

It is possible that Ola Aina was joking and only made up the story, as the tone of the show was humorous. Meanwhile, he continues to work his way back to fitness, with Sean Dyche expecting him to return to action in January.
