Nottingham Forest vs Malmo prediction, team news and head-to-head

Nottingham Forest's have had a rough return to European football so far, currently sitting in 23rd place and hanging on to the final two playoff spots.

Malmo, meanwhile, are down in 33rd, meaning this could be a good chance for Forest to get some points on the board.

Forest climbed out of the relegation zone in the Premier League over the weekend, with their 3-0 win against Liverpool, which was one of biggest upsets of the season so far.

Their Europa League campaign now needs follow the same pattern, if they are to make it to the latter stages.

They have now won consecutive games, scoring 6 goals, and are unbeaten at home under Dyche, which should fill them with confidence.

Malmo finished sixth in the just concluded league season, meaning their only route back into Europe is by winning the UEL.

They are yet to win a single game in the Europa League this season, and considering they've lost 16 of their last 20 matches in the UEL main draw (W1, D3), it's hard to see things improving here.

This will be the fourth H2H clash, with the most famous prior meeting being in the 1979 European Cup final when Forest triumphed.

Malmö have lost eight of their nine major European matches against English opponents, although the sole exception was against Forest in September 1995. 

Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina, Douglas Luiz, Chris Wood, and Oleksandr Zinchenko remain sidelined with injuries. Gunn is also ineligible along with Taiwo Awoniyi, Omari Hutchinson and Jair Cunha.

As for Malmo, Arnor Sigurdsson, Gentian Lajqi, and Erik Botheim will be missing for this one, while Daniel Gudjohnsen - the son of ex-Chelsea forward Eidur Gugjohnsen - is available after serving a two-game suspension
