Not just Cristiano — Czech captain warns teammates ahead of EURO 2024 showdown with Portugal
Soucek acknowledged Cristiano Ronaldo as a goalscoring phenom but insisted there are other Portuguese players to watch out for.
Both nations face off in the group opener in Leipzig, and all eyes will be on Al Nassr superstar Ronaldo to come up with the goals to fire Portugal to glory.
The 39-year-old Ronaldo is chasing history at this year’s tournament, looking to make a record-extending sixth appearance, as well as becoming the first player to score in six different Euros.
Soucek warns teammates to be wary of Ronaldo, others
According to Soucek, despite scoring 50 goals for Al Nassr last season, Ronaldo isn't the only one to fear.
He told O Jogo: “It’s not just Cristiano. Fernandes, Leão, Silva, players who are very, very good.
“Not only when talking about the attack, but also about defence. We know this and we are focused on us.”
Portugal are looking to win the competition again, after their 2016 triumph.
