EURO 2024: Golden Boot favourite Cristiano Ronaldo sets target for Portugal
Cristiano Ronaldo will play in a record-sixth Euros, and his goal is to lead his country all the way.
Portugal won the tournament in 2016 but failed to replicate that form at any major tournament since that time, despite boasting a world-class squad.
Ronaldo believes Portugal can make EURO 2024 final
Ronaldo, 39, holds the record number of international caps (207) and goals scored (130) and will be expected to lead his country for his last international tournament.
Speaking ahead of Portugal's opener against Czech Republic, Ronaldo set a target of reaching the final.
“Semi-finals? I hope we can go further,” he stated.
“We must take it step by step, live in the moment, stay calm, and continue working hard. We know it’s a short competition, but the team is well-prepared.”
