Noni Madueke: It is difficult for us — Maresca laments Chelsea star's move to Arsenal
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Noni Madueke will be leaving the club ahead of the proposed move to Arsenal; however, he ensured to state that they wanted to keep the England international, but he pushed for the move.
Madueke set to join Arsenal
As Pulse Sports reported, Noni Madueke is expected to join Arsenal from Chelsea imminently after an agreement was reached between the clubs.
It was earlier reported that personal terms had been agreed, and on Thursday, news broke that both London clubs have agreed terms on a transfer fee in excess of £50m
It was initially expected that the deal would be completed after the Club World Cup final, PSG; however, reports today reveal that Chelsea have given Madueke permission to travel for his medicals, and hence, he would not participate against the European champions.

What Maresca said
Speaking in the press conference ahead of the PSG clash, a seemingly disappointed Maresca said Madueke pressed for the move, against the wishes of the club.
“If a player wants to leave, then in the end it is difficult for the club and manager. And yes, Noni decided to leave,” he said, per Fabrizio. “No one said to Noni that he has to leave. It was his own decision. If he is happy, we are happy.”
