NNL: 4-star Ikorodu City find Gateway to success with BIG win against United

It was happy scenes at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan as Ikorodu City devastated visitors Gateway United after a staggering 4-0 victory.

The dominant performance was inspired by the duo of super-sub Abikoye Uthman and Salami Farouk, who contributed to all the goals on Saturday in the National Nigeria League, NNL.

Oga Boys recorded their biggest win of the 2023/24 season as they easily brushed aside their neighbours in a one-sided encounter.

Farouk scored one and assisted another while Uthman, who started the match on the bench before an injury forced him in after just 20 minutes, helped himself to a brace.

Striker Paul Aderibigbe got things to the perfect start when he opened the floodgate with a stunning effort in the 18th minute.

Uthman doubled the advantage just after the half-hour mark to make it 2-0 before Farouk made the game save with a third goal a minute before half-time.

In the final moments of the game, Uthman will deny Farouk the man of the match award when he sealed his brace and Ikorodu’s fourth of the evening to wrap up proceedings. 

A dominant performance for the Oga Boys who would be happy with their performance and result against United.
