Napoli hawk Osimhen to PSG with new offer far below Nigerian’s release clause
Victor Osimhen has reportedly given Paris Saint-Germain the green light to pursue his signature as he looks for a move away from Napoli. However, a deal is far from simple for the Super Eagles striker.
Napoli set new asking price for Osimhen
PSG reignited their interest in Osimhen this summer after failing to convince Napoli to part with the striker a year ago and despite making two offers exceeding €100 million, Napoli previously stood firm, insisting that Osimhen would not leave for anything less than his €130 million release clause.
A disappointing season for Napoli have now led to Osimhen being placed on the market, with the Serie A side eyeing a move for Romelu Lukaku as a replacement for the Nigerian striker. According to Foot Mercato, Napoli have now lowered their asking price to €110 million for the wantaway striker, however, PSG remains reluctant to meet this new price.
PSG unwilling to meet Napoli’s asking price
PSG are unwilling to offer more than €80 million for Osimhen and the French giants have already rejected a proposal from Napoli, who asked for €90 million plus Les Parisien forward Lee Kangin.
The reigning Ligue 1 champions are unwilling to include Lee in the deal as they see him as a valuable part of their team and have reportedly turned down a €70 million offer for him from a Premier League club.
The refusal to include Lee in any transfer negotiations have reportedly made negotiations with Napoli even more complex, with hopes of the two clubs reaching an agreement for Osimhen looking slim.
