'₦19bn or nothing' — French giants reject two bids for Super Eagles hopeful
Ligue 1 side Lyon have reportedly rejected bids from both Hoffenheim and fellow French side Lens for struggling Nigerian forward Gift Orban.
The 22-year-old joined Les Gones in January for €20 million as a highly rated prospect from Gent where he found the back of the next at a prolific rate. He has not found the same luck in Ligue 1, however, managing only 21 appearances in which he scored five goals.
Lyon refusing to budge
Lyon are prepared to cut their losses, and part with the talented Nigerian striker this January, and as Pulse Sports reported, they received two concrete offers from Lens and Hoffenheim.
Les Sang et Or offered a reported €8 million for the Nigerian's talent, while the Bundesliga side’s proposal was unspecified, it is believed to be below Lyon's asking price of €12 million, and as such, they rejected both offers.
According to French publication Foot Mercato, the seven-time Ligue 1 champions are refusing to budge on their valuation of Orban. It remains to be seen whether either club will return with an improved offer.
