Bryan Mbeumo shared his enthusiasm in becoming a Manchester United player during his first press conference as a Red Devil, stating that the 20-time Premier League champions were his dream club, whose colours he donned growing up.
Mbeumo to Manchester United
As Pulse Sports reported, the Red Devils have announced the signing of Mbeumo after reaching an agreement with Brentford to sign the Cameroonian forward for a total package of £71 million (approximately ₦146 billion).
It’s been a long and winding road to this point, and the Red Devils’ interest in Mbeumo has been no secret, especially with Ruben Amorim pushing hard for attacking reinforcements.
The Red Devils initially saw their £55m and £62.5m bids turned down by a firm Brentford front office, but they have finally struck a deal worth £71m, an initial £65m upfront with a potential £6m in add-ons.
Mbeumo shares excitement
The 25-year-old signed a contract with the club until 2030. After putting pen to paper, he expressed elation, sharing that he fantasises about creating a successful future with the club.
“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams, the team whose shirt I wore growing up,” he said.
“My mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday. I know that I have the spirit and character to reach another level here, learning from Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players.
“Everybody told me about the environment that is being created here and how exciting the plans are for the future. This is a massive club, with an incredible stadium and amazing fans. We are all really determined to challenge for the biggest trophies.”
